Mixed Reports

30 08 2010

We are hearing mixed reports on fishing in the area.  One of our favorite “fall” bush lakes yielded a nice stringer of fish a few days ago, and that lake usually is the first to get started this time of year.  Pickerel remains slow for walleye but it usually is a week or two later than other lakes.  We are experiencing the same weather many of you have in the mid-west, HOT and HUMID.  Water temps need to drop to spark the fall bite on many smaller lakes.  Some anglers are catching fish on big water and some are struggling.  The north section of Lac Seul has been much slower and spotty than the southern section (Williams Bay area).  Weeds are starting to die which should push fish out of the shallow water and send them to more oxygen heavy areas of the lake.  Usually deep water or areas with deep water very close.  This is the beginning of our favorite time of the year, bring on the colder weather.
