End of Week # 1

28 05 2011

Mixed reports from most area lakes.  Many anglers struggled to find schools of fish, catching two or three here and there.  A few of our regulars did have excellent fishing on most days.   Guys that know a walleye may not be chasing baits at this time of year do fairly well, you basically have to put the bait right in front of their nose.  An early Mayfly hatch is occurring with water temps in the low 60’s, an east or north wind for at least a week, and fish not schooled up yet all played a part of a spotty week.  Water levels remain low as we have not had any rain to speak of.  Anxious to hear how the Sura group did at the outpost this week, they are do in Saturday morning.  Once fish have rested and the feed bag goes on the fishing should pick up.
