May Day

2 05 2013

May 1, 2013 brings a dusting of snow but since last Friday we have been under a fairly heavy spring thaw.  The creek opened up on Saturday and 70 % of our snow was gone by Monday.  Simply amazing what a few warm days does to wildlife.  All sorts of ducks and geese are abundant in the creek and the Golden Eye have found our duck boxes.  Song birds and even some robins showed up to the feeder over the weekend.  With all the good news we still have a long way to go for open water.  The ice still hasn’t broke from shore and 30 inches was reported on a few lakes in Dryden on Sunday.  Staying optimistic Betty and I are trying our best to be ready for our 2013 season; our first customers are scheduled to arrive two weeks from today with the walleye opener on the 18th.

Speaking of the 2013 season, this year will mark our 10th anniversary.  We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.  We will be having a drawing this year for a free fishing trip in 2014.  Blog followers are welcome to enter.  Simply email us your address and phone number to be entered in our drawing.   You can also sign up in person while at camp.
