Spring Thaw

13 04 2014

Long term weather forecast looks to be favorable for getting rid of all this snow and ice.  Although Perrault Falls started the day with snow flurries,  but the end of the week we should have daytime temperatures in the 50’s.  Temps in the 40’s this past week made travel pretty tough, even on packed trails the snow got soft and the slush layer on the lakes thawed.  Fishing reports for trout have been OK, fisherman are catching their fish but the action is not fast.  Walleye reports are much the same, walleye season will close at the end of the day Monday and reopen the 3rd Saturday in May.  Just another reminder, many fish sanctuaries do not open until June 15th this year, always know where you are fishing.

Couple of Pics from last week.
