Looking UP

24 05 2015

The first week over all was tougher than expected.  Water temps were in the high 40’s to low 50’s.  Anglers seen sunshine, rain, and then snow over the first 3 days.  Weather started to stable and fishing has been getting better daily.  Everyone in camp today caught lots of fish.  Mayflies are having their first hatch and fish are on the feed. Fish slow and shallow and you will get your fish. Whenever there is a hatch of some type fish the windy bays with rock/mud transitions and there will be feeding fish.    Black ants are out and you can fool the trout high in the water column right now.  When the ants come out for the first time the get caught in the water and trout will fill their bellies.  Water levels are still low for this time of year and forest fires are on the rise.  With not much rain in the long term forecast we may be in for a dry year.  We are looking forward to some cooler temps ahead to keep fish active for a long time.  Outpost fishing has been excellent, fish are active.
