Pretty Good Fishing

4 06 2015

Fishing in our area has been good but not excellent for the most part.  As always some guys are finding active fish daily and others have to work a bit.  The bigger female walleye are starting to feed after a long rest.  Several 24 to 26 inch walleye were caught and released yesterday.  We have not heard many reports of big fish until the last couple of days.  Water temps are on the rise and averaging 60 degrees in most lakes.  A few small hatches are happening, if you are in the wind and can find a transition from mud to rock bottom you should have excellent fishing.  Crappie fishing has been good for the most part but many fish are done spawning so not all fish are shallow. Trout fishing has stayed steady and surprisingly trout can still be caught shallow.  Glenn Smith landed a 50 inch musky yesterday fishing for trout. Musky season opens the third Saturday in June.
