Small Lake Slow Down

30 06 2015

After a fantastic spring for fishing it seems fish have started to take a break.  With that being said larger lakes are doing well.  Bush lakes have warmed up into the 70’s and Mayflies had a large hatch in the past week.  Fishing early and late is your best best on bush lakes right now.  Walleye have moved to their summer haunts and you can find fish on humps and in the right weed beds.  I’ll be guiding the next few days and should have a better report for the larger lakes in the area.  Bass spawned late this year and just a couple of weeks ago anglers filled their afternoons catching some nice small mouth.  Trout fishing has slowed as expected and mature northern pike are suspended off your deep points.

Couple of pics from a week or two ago.
